Going back home

Posted by Dawn at Thursday, May 07, 2009
One week passed by in a flash and today is the day we go back to Singapore. I will definitely miss the weather for one. However, I do miss Danielle and was wondering if she had recovered from her persistent cough which she has for many weeks before we left. Miss her smiles and when we asked Caleb if he missed meimei, he looked at me wide eyed, blank look. No response. Sigh.

Woke up at about 7am and left the house at about 9:30am to go shopping at the near by shopping mall, Westfield Carousel which opens at 9am. I was the one who intentionally placed shopping to be the last activity in my itinerary as it is of low priority. CT and I are both not shoppers and if we really shop, its mainly for friends and family members. I didnt want to place shopping during the first few days of my trip and end up having not enough money for the rest of the days. So I would rather use my money first and then, I would use the leftovers for shopping so that I can spend all that I have left on the last day for shopping.

The mall was quite huge and there were quite a lot of people. Don't the Aussies work? How come so many kids and parents? haha..

Many Singaporean families love to go Australia because it is very kids friendly. Even this shopping mall has a nice kids play area for them to explore.

After shopping for our friends and family, we headed back home which was only 5 mins drive away. Then squeezed the shopping into my luggage. I also bought a leg of lamb and lamb shoulder for my mum and bro as they both love eating lamb. Lamb in Australia is def cheaper than Singapore. So if you do not know what to give your family members when you come to Australia for vacation, lamb is one option. Ha.

Before we left for the airport, Caleb went around the house saying byebye to things like his favourite foosball table, his room etc.

We definitely have an enjoyable trip in Perth and down South of Perth. It has def been made more enjoyable having to bring Caleb along and also to meet up with my friend, Cherie whom I have not seen for about 5-6 years.

I do not know how much Caleb can remember about this trip but surely, my 800 over photos which I took of this trip would help him to remember when he grows up that he did went to Perth and during that trip, he got to know korkor Tim and chey chey Cherie.

See you guys back in Singapore!

It was interesting reading about your trip, updated almost instantly. How do you get to use the internet?
Very informative to show child-friendly places and great sceneries!

If you look closely at the date of my blog, it actually happened a week ago. I have long ago came back to Singapore already. So now that I am back, I am catching up on my posts but I still put the correct date of my trip.

Btw, most places in Australia seems quite child friendly. So dun have to worry. :)
