See you Wina!

Posted by Dawn at Friday, November 15, 2013
My Indonesian helper, Wina has finally left us last Friday. Before she left, she received Christ on that very Sunday. She has been a Muslim all her life and God touched her in a very personal and loving way. When I brought her for lunch last Thursday, she shared with me what made her accept Christ.

She told me that in 1997, she was in coma for 3 days and in a dream, she dreamt that she was stuck in muddy waters and being able to breathe. She felt she was dying already until she saw a white figure standing in front of her and asking her to come. In her dream, this man also told her to go Northwest. She didnt know at that point in time who he was and what it all meant. But when she came to Singapore, it all made sense and that the guy in her dreams was Jesus.

During her time with me, she attended church together with me and we also released her every Sunday to go to our church Indonesian service in the late afternoon. She enjoyed making friends from her own country as well as getting to eat their own local food after service. Very soon, she was also cooking for them.

Wina told me that there was this verse that kept coming back to her from the Bible- Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Initially, she didn't think much of it but interestingly, her friends keep encouraging her with these verse even though her friends do not know her situation or are not related in any way.

So time and time again, God has been reaching out to her and despite her doubts and fears, she finally surrendered and accepted Christ because she just knew it has to be the Lord and from her cousin, who is a Buddhist, she also encouraged Wina to accept Christ when Wina told her everything that had happened to her since coming to Singapore and the times of how God worked in her life. So even her cousin said, this must be God calling you.. you should stop running away.

Wina has blessed us in many ways and God has been good in giving us a very responsible helper. We will definitely miss her wonderful food and her presence.

She went back to Batam for 2 days before going to JB now to meet up with her husband and to find work.

The last she messaged me was that she has found a job in a Taiwan Porridge place. Really happy for her. She also said she found a church and will be visiting it this Sunday.

God, I pray you continue to bless her richly and to guide her to make good Christian friends in Malaysia and to have a good and understanding boss as she works there. May she grow in likeness of you and deeper with you in relationship.
