Caleb is too active for me to catch up. Now he crawls almost at a rate of 1 metre per sec. He never stops moving. He would crawl and climb. Doing things to keep himself busy all the time. So tiring.
One day, he fell down again and his head landed on the floor while climbing down the platform in my balcony area. Sigh.
His side had red blotches after that. Poor guy. Wailing away.
Another thing he has been doing is to make a mess of my house. Its a test of my patience because I like to keep my house neat and tidy and having a kid around is definitely impossible to keep it in the same state...but at least I try to as I would always clean up or put back the things after he messes it up.
Whenever he messes things up, I would scold him but guess he has no idea what I am talking about and would continue doing it all the time. Sigh...
Any bright ideas how to discipline him or teach him? Or do I just have to wait for this phase to be over and wait till he really understands what I am talking about. At the mean time, I shall exercise patience.

Hi Dawn,
What I find works for me and Riley is for me to tell him in a stern voice what he has done wrong and that he cannot do this again. And then I will repeat his action while saying very clearly 'Cannot' and 'No' and then making the gesture to signal 'No'. For example, when he tries to use his crayons to draw on my furniture, I will first take away the crayon, tell him he cannot draw on mummy's furniture and then take the crayon and pretend to draw but verbally, I say to him that he cannot do this. Then finally as step 3, I will reinforce by asking him can he draw on mummy's furniture. Sometimes, he will shake his head immediately. Sometimes, he doesn't understand and still nods. So I ask till I get the right answer. And so far, this works most of the time. (Hope I'm not speaking too soon.)
try getting him to think packing up is a fun thing to do. that sorting things out / putting them into boxes / picking things up is a game. it works SOMETIMES. (worked with david, not with jody!)
Right now, he doesnt know whatever I say to him..If I teach him to pack by demonstrating to him, he would once again take it out and start throwing things all over. Sigh. Hehe.. But slowly, I feel that a stern "NO" does get him to understand a little. He would stare at me with doppy eyes and then start venturing to something else to destroy.
