Mum's birthday

Posted by Dawn at Tuesday, November 11, 2008
Today, we celebrated mum's birthday at her place. She got the all the 3 helpers from my family, my mum's family and my bro's family (2 filipina, 1 indonesian) to have a cookout session for all of us by cooking their own country's cuisine.

I went to Siglap for lunch as I missed eating the famous Hakka Yong Tau Foo there before going my mum's place for Vicky to prepare her cooking for the celebratory dinner.

After lunch, I just dropped by at Siglap Centre to walk around and see what changes there have been since I havent been there for many many years.

There were quite a number of dishes prepared for dinner. We all ate till so bloated.
There was beef rendang, bee hoon, mixed vegetable, chicken wings, steam fish, and garlic prawns and not forgetting the birthday cake which my mum's god-daughter gave.

Here are the filipina helpers- Vicky and Janice preparing dinner for us and the spread of food we had.

After such a filling dinner, we all went for a walk at the park connector while we left the helpers to have their dinner before we cut the cake. We even brought along Ashley, my favourite dog who is getting old.

I was in quite a lot of discomfort from eating too much as my tummy felt so heavy.

After the walk, we cut the cake, ate and I left after that as I was too tired from being out the whole day.

Mum gave a speech of how blessed she is and how grateful she is to God for her life.

Happy Birthday Mum! May you continue to grow in wisdom, love and beauty every day!
