To the animal resort

Posted by Dawn at Thursday, November 06, 2008
Despite CT not bring around, I do not believe in time standing still and spending my time at home lamenting when he would be back. So today, after work, I brought Caleb to the animal farm at Jalan Kayu as its near my place.

Its free entry to the farm and Caleb got to touch the goats and get near to other animals like chickens, geese, peacocks, rabbits etc.

He was really having a great time interacting with the animals as they made all sorts of noises.

I am def not one who would worry much about my child getting too close to animals. So I allowed Caleb to roam freely at the farm except when he goes close to the pond.

There was an instance that he became so excited that he was running around and fell into the mud. I just told Caleb, "it's ok.., just clean you up with wet wipes and everything will be ok." Caleb also didnt kick up a fuss when he fell..but my helper did. Haha..

Here's me and Caleb with the geese. And the same thing happened- Vicky was telling Caleb," Dont go so close, afterwards the goose bite you." Then I told Vicky,, "it's ok ..let him go near and play with them."

I feel we just have to give the child some space to explore and learn. I do not believe in being afraid of my child getting dirty and muddy...I mean, the only inconvenient part is to clean him up after whatever activity. But that is to my inconvenience...not his. So, its really fine for me to clean him up while he go explore the mud or sand or even animals. But of course, I will be beside him if he goes near the animals in case they really do bite. But I doubt it because many kids come to this farm all the time and since the geese are allowed to roam freely, they should be fairly safe and tame.

Anyway, if you have kids and interested to visit the farm. Here's the address.

Do exercise caution, as animals may carry diseases and if they bite Caleb, they can pass this disease to him.

Eg... Puppy licking - puppies licking fingers can kill the puppies

Or getting bites from rodent animals can transmit diseases to him.

Also, sometimes, these farm animals eat their own faeces, and that contains bacteria...
