My new year was greeted with a pleasant surprise when my mum called me and told me that both her and my daddy appeared in the newspaper. She went on to tell me that the reporter wanted to start the year off with an inspirational story. So, that's why she interviewed them. When I heard it, I quickly went downstairs to buy the newspapers to read.
Actually when I read the article, I was not surprised or anything because what was written in the article speaks truly of how optimistic my dad is and all that he is doing for the children in Cambodia. It is not like when sometimes we know of reporters who just blow the story up and all...but yep, all that is true about the article and I just feel that my dad's life is like an open book. He doesnt behave differently in front of others or at home, and his messages to his family and his friends are also always the same as exhibited by his life - not to give up easily, to always be thankful etc etc.
Caleb woke up this morning brushing his 'teeth'. He has this toothbrush for infants with no teeth yet. Its a stick with rough jagged edges on top which helps to massage the gums. So here's Caleb with it!
In the afternoon, I was spending time with him, playing with him. But he was more interested with his fingers after a while. Here's what I am talking about...
The weather has been really nice and cooling. So, we decided to bring him out to Punggol Beach. Here's Caleb playing a bit more before we went out..
And there he is all ready..
When we drove towards the beach, we already saw many cars parked at the side of the roads..
It was nice to see families at the beach, playing with their children..
as well as fishing..
It was very cooling and breezy.
Caleb was very busy looking around and probably wondering where he was.
This beach would be very different in 3 years time when the government is going to spruce up this whole stretch of beach with F & B outlets...
Yep, so today I went to the beach with another purpose. That is to take pictures so that in many years to come, I can show my children how much Punggol has changed.
Right now, the beach is still filled with many trees as well as litter.
Here's CT and Caleb looking at the waves coming in.
Punggol Beach is also a historical WW2 site where it used to be one of the Japanese killing fields where the Chinese were massacred.
When I went there, I just cant imagine the history that this beach brings as its so peaceful and lively with children running around and families gathering together.
I really wonder how Punggol Beach will be like in 3 years time..
On our way back to the car, we gave Caleb some water and he actually grabbed it to feed himself.
That's my boy growing up..
