In the morning, we went to Ang Mo Kio Hub for breakfast and to do our weekly supermarketing at NTUC Hypermart. I love to do my supermarketing there because its big and I can use my Link card to collect points. Now, NTUC offers the convenience of redeeming your points immediately when you purchase stuff at the cashier. So since I had about 2000 points, I could redeem about $19 off my bill today. Ok, better not say anymore as I feel so "Auntie". I can actually go on and on about supermarkets as I treat each visit like an adventure and love to do supermarketing.
In the afternoon when I was taking care of Caleb, after a while, my hands got so tired from carrying him. So, I placed him on the Bumbo seat while I do my computer work. So I left him on the floor of my study room where I can see him as I do my own things.
The good thing was that he was well behaved and he started to entertain himself.
Initially, he looked absolutely bored.
Then he kept staring at me as if he wants me to play with him or entertain him.
Then realising that I am seriously ignoring him, he starts to check out things around him- his favourite soft toy and the industrial fan behind him that is making a lot of noise.
Because he was so well-behaved and allowing me to do my own things, I couldnt help but take more pictures of him and showed it to him immediately. He loves that!
At night, we went to a new Japanese Restaurant which just opened in Punggol! Yup, its a big deal because its the first Japanese Restaurant at our place and I really appreciate my place even more now.
There was a queue and so CT lined up while Vicky and I went to Cash Converter to look around. We spotted a small slow cooker which we wanted to buy in NTUC but it was too expensive, costing about $50-60. But in the Cash Converter stall, it was going only for $8. Though it was second hand, it was in good working condition and clean. So what the heck, we bought it.
When we finally got our seat after waiting for about 10 mins, we quickly ordered our food. Caleb was so hyper then..he couldnt stop jumping on the table.
The restaurant has an interesting layout as the kitchen is in the center, surrounded by the conveyor belt. So, our food is being prepared in the open where we can all see.
I only took 2 plates from the conveyor belt and ordered a proper rice set for dinner. Was tempted by the fresh salmon sashimi..so I grabbed it and it was so deliciously fresh! Thick and fresh ('crunchy')- just as how I like it.
I ordered salmon tofu with raw egg in hotplate, with rice. Very tasty. Costs only $8.90!
CT ordered beef rice which was also very nice. The beef was tender and very tasty. But too few slices. This costs $10.90.
Here's what Vicky ordered...it comes in sticks of different kind of food. There's brown Enoki mushrooms wrapped with bacon, some vegetable stems with bacon, grilled cuttlefish, as well as grilled chicken. Her rice dish also costs only $8.90.
We could have ordered only 2 sets if we had known how much rice they gave us. We were all so full. I really enjoyed my dinner. Hope to go there next time for the different kinds of sashimi!
