This morning, as usual, CT dropped me off in school at about 6:30am. After a short while, I received a call from him on my handphone. Of course, I was surprised and thought I might have left something in the car. But in turned out that CT was involved in a minor accident just outside my school at the main road T-junction and told me to come out as the people in the car had alcohol-breath and were smoking.
So I brought along few of my colleagues out to support CT. Initially, me, Mrs Chan, Mr Peter Low went out and Peter helped to negotiate with the gang leader. He was of course very defensive and blamed CT for not stopping completely at the stop line. But CT said he saw that the traffic light was red and so, he made a right turn. Who knows there was a car that beat the light and so, our car knocked into him. But the gang leader insisted he saw amber light.
The guy talked like any typical gangster- very defensive, pointing his fingers at CT as he talks and its like he is picking for a fight. So Mrs Chan was afraid and went in to get more of my teachers out. So, my Operations Manager who has a warrant, Mr Ting came out along with 2 of my school's oldest teachers- Mr Lee (who is 72 years old) and Mr Thoh who is 60 plus all came out and talked to the gang leader. The gang leader even went on to threaten CT that he do not want to see him on the street if not... So when Mr Lee heard it, he quickly scolded the gang leader and said, " Dont you dare threaten! I know the law!" When Mr Lee scolded the gang leader in a harsh and stern voice, I was taken aback and afraid for Mr Lee that he would get bashed up by the gang leader. But at the same time, I was glad he warned the leader and gave him a good scolding...cos after that, the gang leader actually apologised.
Anyway, after about one hour of negotiation, CT just paid him $150 to settle. I guess its really not a matter of who is right or who is wrong, but to settle it and get over and done with.
Initially when CT wanted to call the police, the guy was a little frightened because they were drinking. Now the law in Singapore is drink driving and not drunk driving. So it means that as long as you drink a sip, you are not supposed to drive! That was what my colleague, Sarah told me as she recently attended a police course to get a warrant since she is one of the heads of the discipline committee of our school.
IT was a rather eventful morning and after CT paid the money, he drove off to work. Our car front bumper is scratched and the number plate came off. So he got it fixed after work.
At night, drove to my mum's place and we went together to my brother's place for dinner to try out his hostel food. My brother and family stays in ACS(Barker Road) hall and so, he and Pam takes care of the students there.
Here is Janine playing by herself..
And this was what we had for dinner, including Papaya pork rib soup which my mum brought over and chicken nuggets and Jap eel which Pamela prepared to add on to our dinner.
My brother's place is quite decent with 3 bedrooms and a living room plus kitchen area. Here's Janine eating her orange sitting next to the TV.
Caleb was with us as well and he was probably wondering where he was.
After dinner, we went altogether to visit my cousin Wei Ee who just gave birth to a baby girl, Angelika. But before that, here's Janine seating on grandpa as he gets into the van by a lifter.
To my regret, I didnt take any pictures of the baby girl as I didnt bring in my camera. Next time... But she's really cute and small that I almost forget that Caleb was even smaller when he just came out.
Reached home close to 11 pm. Yawn..

what is a warrant and what is it for?? why do some teachers need warrants?? can pls explain? ty!! :)
it means that some teachers in school have the police badge where they can catch criminals. They need it because students in school can also be criminals. So the teachers who have them are usually the discipline heads.
ooooo...i see....cool! i never knew that!
