Nothing is impossible..

Posted by Dawn at Monday, November 19, 2007
This morning, woke up at 5 plus am and drove to my parent's place to fetch my family to the airport. My dad, mum, brother and Lyn(my dad's Myanmar helper) will be going to Cambodia for a week. For those who know me and my family, you should know that it is amazing for my family to go Cambodia with my dad in his condition.

When my dad first told me about their plans to go Cambodia, I was shocked and asked, "Er..can ah? How?"

Most of you would know by now that my dad is paralysed since the train accident 2 years ago in the States. I would never have imagined my dad being able to travel again given his condition. So when he mentioned his plans to me, I was surprised and skeptical initially but when I was reminded that nothing is impossible with God and how my dad is always so strong mentally, I know that he was dead set to go and will make it!

Another bit of background information for you- my dad with a few of his friends set up "Operation Hope" many years back to help the people, especially orphans in Cambodia and Nepal. So, my dad has been to and fro Cambodia many times. My mum, brother and myself too went to Cambodia a number of times with the church- with the youth and dance ministry.

I enjoyed the times I visited the country-loved the people as well as the food! Each time I come back from the country, I get really touched by their simplicity and joy in the children.

Anyway, today, my family (without me..sobsob!) left for Cambodia. I drove the van to send them off at the airport.

Here is the church members from Bedok Methodist Church (which my family attends) praying for all those going. Those going are made up of my family and my dad's bible study group as well as some other church members.Oh, my brother's colleague also went along for this mission trip!

Here are my parents!

This is the group leaving for the trip! (well, some are just supporters in the picture)

And lastly, not forgetting my brother and his family. Pamela (my sis-in-law) and daughter, Janine will be staying behind. Janine is still at the age of not fully comprehending of what is going on around her..so she did not kick up a big fuss at all when my brother left.

I wish that this trip will be fruitful for them and my family can enjoy themselves!

My dad was definitely pretty excited as this is his first trip on the plane since the accident.
