Sudden urge

Posted by Dawn at Saturday, November 10, 2007
This morning, I woke up at about 7 plus and had breakfast at 8 plus am. As I was eating my breakfast, I was just thinking of how bored I would be when CT goes out in the morning to see a specialist at Siglap. So, I suddenly thought of bringing Caleb,Vicky to my mum's place to wait for CT and at the same time, have lunch there.

So when I was eating my breakfast and saw Vicky, I told her, "Er..Vicky, I was just thinking of us going to my mum's place now..we leave soon, can?" Vicky was just about to clean the toilets when she heard what I had to say and quickly zoomed to pack the bag and bring milk for Caleb. That was about 830am then, and just within 15 mins, we were out of the house. I was quite amazed at how short a time we can decide on something and act upon it even with a 3 month old baby to think about.

I also quickly called my parents to check if they were home or not. When I dropped CT off the clinic, I went to my mum's place. She was about to leave the house. I asked her where she was going, and she told me that she was going to colour her hair. So, I suddenly thought that I needed a haircut. So, without any preparations, I quickly walked out with my mum to the salon to do up our hair.

CT called me when I was in the salon and asked me where I was as he was at my parent's place already. He was shocked when I told him I was cutting my hair because I was also not expecting to cut.

After the haircut, I walked back to my parent's place to bathe Caleb. It was Caleb's first time bathing there and boy, he looked like he had lots of fun.

Here is Caleb getting ready to be bathed..

He was having a bubble bath in the 'bath tub'...

After a good bath and feeding, we put him on the sofa to train him to sit up.

Initially, he was doing well on the sofa, but after a while, he started protesting..

Had chicken rice for lunch as my mum bought back. After a good time spent with my family, we went home to rest.

The last thing which I had a sudden urge to do was to bake muffins. Went home and after resting a while, I quickly went down to my house supermarket to grab some stuff for baking.

I baked Hawaiian Ham Muffins. It is a very easy recipe. Turned out really good for my first try. Here it is!

This is the recipe (thanks to my colleague, Juliane for providing it) - for 12 medium muffins

First, put all these ingredients into one bowl and mix it..
2 cups plain flour
4tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
about 100g ham diced
1 1/2 cups grated tasty cheese (I used cheddar)
2 spring onions chopped

Then, put the following ingredients in another bowl and mix it thoroughly. For the milk, you add the pineapple syrup together up to 1 cup with milk.

300g can crushed pineapple
3/4 cup of coconut cream or milk (I used milk because its healthier)
1 large egg

Then you just combine the first set of ingredients with the second set. That's it! Just put the mixture into the 12 medium pans which have been lightly buttered. Top with extra grated cheese.

Bake at 210 degrees celcius for 12-15 mins. (my conventional oven does not have 210, so I bake at 200 degrees for about 24 mins) or until the tops and sides are brown and the centres spring back when lightly pressed.

Try it! Its very easy!

After baking, CT also had a sudden urge. He initiated bringing Caleb out for a walk. So, CT and I brought Caleb down for a nice evening stroll before dinner.

As we were walking, we saw people playing with their remote-controlled aeroplanes and helicopters in the big open field. So nice. So we parked Caleb there and just stared at them playing...

Flying these planes is a common sight in Punggol especially since we still have so many open fields and space.

As we walked back, Caleb fell asleep in the pram. Thanks to the nice cool weather.

caleb's 'look' seems to have changed slightly in his latest pics. Really enjoy reading your entries and admire the dedication you take writing so many of them! I am currently crazy over scrapping, so have even less time and interest in blogging :)

I love scrap booking too but dont have time for that as that is very time consuming as well as expensive. I can only do that in my holidays. My husband told me to do electronic scrap booking instead since all my photos are stored in my computer as well as cheaper. :p
