Today, we set off back to Auckland from our barn in Cambridge. It has been rather fun driving and navigating in NZ as the road signs are clear and the drive has been very smooth and scenic.
Sometimes I do wish I was taking part in Amazing Race as I would get to drive all sorts of car when I go to other countries. That will be fun! Maybe one day I might take part..who knows?
On the way back to our motel in Auckland, we stopped by a Macs for lunch. Reason is because there was a playground for Janine to play.
I ordered the "Kiwiburger" while CT ordered "The Boss". But of course, it wasnt Kiwi meat that I ate...they wouldnt sell those since its becoming extinct!
This was where we stayed in Auckland. Its a very nice motel as its near the park and eating places, and more importantly, near where my grandaunt stays.
For dinner, we met up with my grandaunt at "Gee Gee's", an Italian Restaurant which she recommended just 5-7 mins walk from our motel.
The food was fabulous. CT's aged eye fillet steak was the best! I ordered a pan fried fish.
The following pictures taken in the restaurant are not so clear as I was using handphone to take. I ran out of batteries..sobsob. Didnt bring my battery charger.
Here's CT's aged eye fillet steak..
What was enjoyable about was how the sides compliment so well with the mains. My fish was also nice because it went so well with watermelon bits which was underneath with salad and cheese shavings on top. It was very creative and refreshing!
Here's my grandaunt and mum talking..
Oh! forgot to mention that the white wine was smooth and easy to drink. Guess you cant go wrong with Sauvignon blanc..
And here's Janine eating her porridge as usual. My mum would cook porridge for her every meal.
For dessert, we had this dish called "Alaskan bomb". It was like ice cream wrapped inside marshmellow. It's so good...
Walked back to our motel right after dinner to carry on our conversation with my grandaunt as she dropped by. Had a great night!
CT and I stayed up at night to watch a movie called, "Blood Diamonds", starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Slept only at about 11 plus.
