What a rush...

Posted by Dawn at Friday, March 07, 2008
Right after school today, I was rushing to finish up my work and to settle some stuff before I rush home to do my final packing for my NZ Trip.

Left the school only at about 3 plus pm. CT came home at about 5 pm from work and bathed before we rushed out of the house to put our car with the car dealer to scrap.

Then we head to my parents' place to go together to the airport. We needed to reach the airport at 7 pm. So can you imagine how rushed we were?

Our flight was from the new terminal 3. So, it was rather nice to get to enjoy the new terminal.

Here's Janine all excited to go overseas. Not her first time taking the aeroplane though as her last trip was to Brunei.

When we were checking in, the guy at the counter gave us a shock when he told us that CT needed a visa to go NZ. And he added that he cannot go as he need to apply and get approval from NZ. We told him that it was ridiculous as CT is a Singaporean and we all do not need visa. Anyway, we were really taken aback that such thing can happen. But thank God, he was cleared to go after a period of talking to the higher authorities and all.

The other hiccup that happened was that I forgot to bring one of my bags which consisted of our slippers, charger for my PSP and sunglasses. I realised when I was in my parents' place. I thought of rushing to Punggol to grab it but CT told me that we didnt need to as we only need passport and money. So, we borrowed slippers from my parents place and as for my PSP, I placed it in my parents' place since I left my charger at home.

Here's my daddy trying to get into the plane. He was transferred to a smaller wheelchair to be pushed through the aisle in the plane while his own wheelchair will be checked in.

Since it was a night flight, it was good as we can make use of the hours in the plane to sleep. It was a 10 hours plus flight to Auckland and I didnt really enjoy my flight as CT's screen didnt work. Though my mum changed seats with him, CT still did not watch any shows as my mum's seat's screen was also not working very well.

But given SIA's good service, they gave us a US$75 voucher for their duty-free shop for compensation. I used it to buy beauty products for my mum and a thumbdrive for myself.

During the plane flight, I only watched two movie shows- "Brothers", a HK movie which is quite exciting, starring Andy Lau and other famous stars as well as " Le Grand Chef", a Korean movie about cooking. Not too bad.

We finally reached Auckland in the late Saturday morning.
