Apple Puree- his first food!

Posted by Dawn at Saturday, November 24, 2007
This morning, woke up at 6am plus and took MRT with CT alone to Rangoon Road for Bak Ku Teh breakfast. We dropped at Farrer Park Station which is about 15-20 mins ride from Punggol MRT Station.

It is a popular shop, called "Ng Ah Sio Bak Ku Teh", with lots of food awards. However, my expectations wasnt met. Quite disappointing because some of the pork ribs were a bit tough. Other than that, the soup was really thick and tasty.

It wasnt cheap as well. Two of us ordered bak ku teh, you tiao, 2 bowls of rice and chinese tea cost us $16.80 altogether. So be prepared to pay close to $10 per person.

We spent the day together at home. Here is CT and Caleb...

Here is Caleb still crying a number of times in the day..(sigh..when will this stop?)

And today, we did something special..We actually gave Caleb his first "solid" food.
Vicky steamed apples and blendered it to make it a puree. From 4 months onwards, a baby can start eating already. I know some people will be skeptical in giving food to a baby at such an early age. But I came to a conclusion that it doesnt really matter whether give the food when they are 4 months or when they reach 6 months...

So we started today..

We just feed once a day while the rest of the meals would still be milk. Today was just a testing stage and so how did Caleb react?

Well, he was squinting his eyes as if it was very sour since he never tasted anything like that before.

Here is Caleb, the messy eater...I must try to get used to his messyness.

All in all, Caleb took about 5 spoonfuls. Not too bad on his first try. There were lots of leftovers which CT and I slurped it down in the late afternoon as we took it out from the fridge. Nice cool slurpy! hehe..
