We did not have time to discuss or share deeper but will touch on the same subject next week. My dream I feel God has placed me is to reach out to my students and inspire them as God would like me to. I have never thought of doing something like that until God gave me a teaching scholarship. From young, I have not been good in my studies and it is really a miracle that I have the scholarship...and throughout this journey in becoming a teaching has been tough because of the NIE training, projects and numerous observations from other teachers and HODs really made things scary. But each day, I go to school earliest in the morning because I love it and I feel I would not have such a passion if I did not see teaching as God-given dream.
After service, I went home and began cooking quick as we wanted to go Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Florida and it closes at 5pm. So, I cooked bee hoon. I soaked it in water before I left for church this morning. Added silver fish, mushrooms, cabbage and egg. Here is the outcome.. I was glad it tasted nice..
After lunch, we made our way to Pensacola. It is an hour plus ride from home. Travelled along Interstate 10 (I-10) East towards florida. Had to pass by the bridge across Mobile Bay..Had to take this picture because of the blue sky and the nice white fluffy clouds. This is the picture of the Bay waters..
As we were travelling, I got slightly bored as CT is usually quite quiet and focus on driving..so I took out my camera again to snap some pictures on the road to show you the road I am travelling on..check out the tall trees..
Then, as we entered the Naval Aviation Museum compound, it was about 3 mile drive to reach the museum. The place is quite near the waters..
We drove all the way to this museum for one reason-- It is FREE!! Yup..if it is not, I doubt we would drive one hour plus just to come here.
Amazingly, it is a huge museum despite not having to pay a cent to go in. It has 2 levels and we stayed till 5pm. That was about 2 and a half hours in the museum. Lots of things to see. There is even an IMAX in it but of course, have to pay...and of course, we did not see the IMAX.
There are a number of art paintings in the museum on aeroplanes. A lot of them are quite nicely painted.
Ok, there are a lot more pictures which I think I am unable to show it here because then, my blog would be too long.
So, for more pictures, do check out my US trip photos by clicking on the right column link and click on "Pensacola" Folder.
We left the museum when they started announcing that the museum would be closing. So, we left and headed back to Mobile. We went to "Target" Stores to take a look as we have not been to one before. It is like "K Mart" selling departmental stuff as well as some food stuff. Then, we went to "Dollar Tree" where everything is one buck. I did not buy much as I wanted to wait for Esther to come, then we gals can shop all we like.
After working our appetite by walking around, we went to this Chinese restaurant nearby for buffet. In the South, it is famous for crawfish. It looks like a mixture between prawns and lobster. Here is how it looks like..
