In a mood to try something different..I am not someone who can do the same thing every day or eat the same food every day. I like variety, excitement and adventure!
Few days back, I had frozen Japanese Ramen for lunch. Its easy and quick to make. Also got frozen dumplings to go along with it.
Here's Caleb's lunch!
And mine..
When Vicky was on leave yesterday, I took the opportunity to cook lamb stew since she doesnt eat that. I added carrots, celery, cherry tomatoes and rosemary. Marinated the lamb overnight with garlic and fresh herbs as well as red wine, salt and pepper
And here's what it looks like in the pot.
The sauce was very rich and tasty! Loved it!
Here's the final outcome- the kid's version and the adult's version. (mashed potatoes at the bottom)
And finally another unique thing which I tried this week was Korean gold melon which I got from Giant hypermart. I am so thankful for Singapore's strategic location (which I learnt from my History books when I was a student) because we get to have lots of interesting food and fruits imported here!
Just when you think this fruit is big.
Its actually not. Its only the size of a teaspoon.
Texture and taste is like honeydew but slightly sweeter.
This is the kind of thing which I would buy just for the novelty of it. At least I can tell people that me and my children have tried gold melon before..and they would probably give me the blank look.
However nowadays, we are exposed to all sorts of exotic food that our children has the privilege of trying. What a blessed generation!
