New Church

Posted by Dawn at Sunday, February 01, 2009
Since after my confinement period, CT and I have been wanting to change church as we were looking for a more family church, especially for the kids to grow up in.

And we are quite pleased with this present church that we have been trying. This church is not only near to my house but it is very organised despite having quite a big congregation and premise. Everything seemed to be in place. Take for example how they cater to kids of all ages from 4 weeks old to primary school, and as well as youth and young adult ministries.

Take a look at the room where Caleb and Danielle goes to which is for 4 weeks old baby to 2 years old. They do free play here since babies at this age group cannot really focus. But look at how well-equipped the room is that I am so amazed. They have not only a huge room for the kids to roam, they also have 2 comfy chairs for mummies to breastfeed their child (with curtains for privacy if need),

they also play kids DVD to engage the children with soothing music and when the service starts, the helpers or mummies in the room can follow the sermon and service as well.

They also have high chairs to feed the baby, rocking chairs, slide, 2 changing mats, biscuits for the children, wet wipes and pampers provided for children, hot water from the airpot to make the milk etc. Its so well-equipped. Their helpers are also so experienced and friendly that CT and I have now left Danielle and Caleb there with them all by themselves as we go upstairs to attend the service. Vicky, too, leaves them behind to go for her filipino service just few doors away.

We have also recently been attending cell group which is near our place. They have like 7 couples with 12 kids. In the cell group, they also have programme for the children. So after worship together, the kids go off for their programme where the volunteer cell members take turns to learn the kids in story telling and art and craft. So here's what Caleb made during the programme- fish from red packets as the story was about Peter and the fishers of men.

Well after a day, Caleb started ripping all the fishes out of the string. Sigh.

Anyway, CT and I have been having a good time in our new church as we made new friends, enjoy the sermons and worship. For now, we are just praying and seeing if this is the place where God really want us to settle in.
