Epcot

Our next park was Epcot. I chose Epcot second to visit because some show cases open at 11am in this park. So, it was better to go MGM first, then Epcot and lastly, Magic Kingdom to catch the night show.

I enjoyed Epcot the best..I guess it is because it is less kiddish compared to MGM and Magic Kingdom. It is also more interesting because they have world showcases where they show the cultures of various countries like Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, America, Japan, Morocco, France, UK, Canada. There will also be food in each 'country' for us to learn more about the culture.

Our first stop was this simulated ride as we become astronauts. The ride is called,"Mission:Space". We go inside this tight spaced room where we act our different roles : Commander, Engineer, Pilot, Navigator. We have some tasks to do and to navigate in space. This ride causes motion sickness and we feel our heart going up and down.

The effects are really good and I enjoyed this, even though I came out walking like a drunkard. Haha..could not walk straight. You just feel that you have been turned upside down and spinning while you were inside the small room.

Now in amusement parks like universal and disney, you can go to a ride and collect a Fastpass ticket. It means that you do not have to queue up for so long. The ticket will tell you the time to come back and then all you need to do is queue up under the Fastpass queue. So, we collected Fastpass for our next ride, "Test Track" and then went for lunch. So, after lunch, we could come back and ride without having to queue and wait.

We went to the different World showcases to find food. We first entered the Mexico Showcase to see..they have small shops set up to sell mexican stuff. I spotted the huge hat and told CT to try it on..

After that, we walked to China showcase and decided to eat Chinese food...ha..how boring.We were too hungry and so we did not want to walk too far to find food. So, stopped at China showcase and I took beef fried rice with spring roll while CT had beef with green peppers and rice.

After that, we walked to the rest of the countries to take a look. However, we did not really go in as we were quite tired from walking. So, we just see from outside and walk pass.




Then, we went back to the ride where we got Fastpass and took it. "Test Track" ride is another exciting ride where we sit in this car which goes through various tests to see whether the car can withstand the different conditions, to test the brakes of the car, go through some bumpy road conditions and at the end, test the speed of the car as it goes very fast. So, it was quite interesting.

We met Kok Fong and wife and they told us that they have finished with Epcot and would take the Disney transport to Magic Kingdom. They seem to just walk and see only, without taking the rides..so they did not stay long in Epcot.

After that, I went with CT to this new attraction called "Soaring". At the ride, they said we have to queue for about 40 mins. I told CT that it looks real nice and this would be our last ride before we go next park. So, we decided to queue. We did not take Fastpass as the Fastpass timing was 7pm..which was too late. It means that if we take, we come back at 7pm to avoid the queue.

Anyway, it was worth waiting. We enjoyed this ride the most. It is not as scary as the rides we took but it was a great adventure as it was like free-flying hand-gliding over California's natural wonders. Our feet was dangling and we really felt we were flying above the moutains, lakes etc..It was a wide screen simulator.

After the ride, everyone actually started clapping as it was a great ride as we soared above all the wonderful natures..like yosemite and forests.

Oh, me and CT bought this drink at Epcot. It is actually frozen coke..like coke smoothie. Very nice..especially when the weather was so hot. The picture on the right is where I bought the drink. I am actually at the back of the car with the drink. Anyway, it looks like mocha ice..but it is actually coke with shaven ice. I slurped up everything..

You can see some smoke in the picture because this is also a cooling stations. There are cooling stations around where there is cooling mists for us to cool down from the heat.

We left Epcot at about 520pm to go to our last park- Magic Kingdom.
