How I spent my Christmas Eve...

Posted by Dawn at Monday, December 24, 2007
Today, CT still had to work but half day. The thing was that he missed his company bus which seemed left earlier than the actual time. Its bad because CT works in Jurong Island, so it is not convenient for him at all. So CT took a lift from his colleague to Simei and then he took public transport home.

I had my lunch first since CT will only reach home at about 2 pm. Here's what I had for lunch.

Do you have moments when you just miss eating instant noodles? Well, today was the moment. So, I took out my ramen packet which I bought from Meidi-Ya Japanese Supermarket and had that for lunch. Added mushrooms, spring onions and chinese cabbage with lots of chilli powder added!

When CT came home at 2 plus pm, I cooked for him the same thing.

I had my in-law over for dinner tonight. So, Vicky and I were busy marinating and preparing the food. Even went to the market early in the morning to buy fish and vegetables.

When my in-laws came, my mum-in-law took out a Christmas hat for Caleb which she sewed. Check out Caleb with his ULTRA pointed hat..doesnt this remind you of Marge Simpson?

Here's what we had...

Golden Enoki mushrooms, shitake mushrooms, and 2 diff types of veggies...

I also made dumplings..

Chilli fish balls and the normal fish balls...

Tung Hoon (Vermicelli/Glass noodles)...

Pork and Chicken...

Homemade meat balls which was actually left overs from my dumpling filling.

Raw fish and prawns (marinated with ginger, and XO)

As well as cuttlefish...

Actually, the highlight for tonight was not the food but the chilli. Its superb! For those who are chilli lovers out there..you got to buy this! It's called "Chinchalok Chilli". Chinchalok is actually krill that is salted and bottled. Similar to the Phillipine version of bagoong.

I knew my sister-in-law would love it because she loves chilli. So I took it out to go with the dishes.

Everyone loved it!

After dinner, we let the 2 babies interact-Keelia and Caleb. Keelia is about 1 and a half months younger.

Here's my sis-in-law, Linda with her baby daughter, Keelia.

Here are both my sis-in-laws (Ally and Linda)carrying the 2 babies. Caleb simply cant keep still..so most of the photos I took of him were blur.

These are closeup of Keelia with her Christmas hat

And Caleb with his!

Had a really great time tonight as these two babies were our main entertainers.

Hi Dawn! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones. :)

I loooove tonkotsu(pork bone) ramen! I think I ate those almost everyday when I was in Japan for holidays. Even though this is the instant version, i'm sure it's still very yummy right?

You must go to Ichibantei at Robertson Quay (near that very oclourful bridge!) for their tonkotsu ramen. It's the closest to what you can get in Japan. *slurp* *droooool*
