Filipino glutinuous porridge

Posted by Dawn at Wednesday, December 03, 2008
Today, Vicky cooked her filipino style chicken glutinuous rice porridge for lunch. It actually tasted just like any chicken porridge. I thought it would be thick and gooey, but it wasnt.

It was very fragrant because it was first fried with red onions, ginger and garlic.

Then you throw in the shredded cooked chicken strips into the frying pan.

Then just pour everything into the bowl of glutinuous rice porridge which was cooked in a separate pot.

Ta-da! A very simple lunch. I asked Vicky whether filipinos eat this for breakfast or lunch and she told me that they eat it for tea time usually. I was surprised as its quite filling. They have one big bowl each for tea time and do not eat this for breakfast or lunch. How interesting.
