Books!

Posted by Dawn at Monday, October 15, 2007
Today is Hari Raya Puasa, a public holiday! Yippee. Its nice when a holiday falls on a Monday because you not only get a long weekend, you also get rid of the Monday blues.

We went to Hougang Mall for lunch today as I wanted to eat KFC. Havent eaten fast food for ages. We also wanted to go to a shopping centre in search of Rubik's cube. CT and I wanted to buy and challenge each other. In the end, we didnt find any but instead, we went to the library which was in the mall. I was pretty excited to borrow some books for Caleb. One library card can only borrow 4 books. So initially, I used my library books to borrow 4 books for Caleb. After that, I went to the Customer Service counter and asked if I could get a library card for Caleb and she automatically did it for me and told me that I need to borrow 4 books with the Caleb's library card to get a free gift.

So, I went back to the children's section and borrowed 4 more books and got a free recycled bag which was very hardy to put all my books in. I was very happy and excited to go home and read to Caleb.

Here are the books which I borrowed...

Some of the books borrowed are really very educational. Just like this one which CT is reading to him. Its a book on Colours and you can also touch the different textures of the animal.

CT also read him another book called, "Just like Daddy". Its a very sweet book about daddy and son. Another touch and feel book-good for babies to explore and learn.

After reading, Caleb had this dopey look on him that I had to take a shot.

Caleb was talking away and smiling in the evening.

Then he would also give the stunned and blur look...

With all that really cute expressions, he would also suddenly change and start crying for no reason.

This is Caleb for you- so unpredictable. When you least expect it, he will start playing with you, talking to you and smiling/laughing away. And just when you are enjoying his company with all his smiles and talking, he will start his engine and then cry.

I have discovered just a couple of days ago that he seemed to discover his tongue. He has been rolling his tongue and sticking it out quite often. And maybe because of that, he has also been generating a lot of saliva, thus starting to drool already. Very interesting.

Here is a video of him "playing" with his tongue, saliva..and his different expressions. Look at how he reacted when I put the camera closer to his face.

For dinner tonight, Vicky cooked sweet and sour pork (with gravy kind). Very yummy. I also liked the mixed veggies she cooked. She added prawns, chicken mushroom balls, brocolli, snow peas, celery and carrots. Very nice and fragrant because of the garlic. Topped the dinner off with a chinese dried vegetable soup, with dried cuttlefish, chicken bones and carrots added. One of my favourite soup because it is very tasty.
