Long Weekend

Posted by Dawn at Saturday, October 13, 2007
Yay! The long weekend is here and its nice to be able to spend some time with CT and Caleb. This morning, we left the house at 7 plus am to go AMK Hub for breakfast and our weekly supermarketing. We had pork porridge with century eggs. Yummy. I chose to go early to the supermarket so that it wont be so crowded.

Spotted a spiderman play dough set and quickly grabbed it for Ophelia's son, Asher who loves Spiderman! I also bought for Caleb his first cloth story book. Went home after that.

On the way home, Caleb enjoyed his ride in the car as he was smiling away and sometimes, staring at the cars and trees outside in a serious manner.

This is a picture of Caleb listening and responding to Vicky

And what he enjoys doing..just sticking his whole fist in his mouth..

In the evening, CT and I took Caleb out for a stroll to the newly opened FIRST petrol station in Punggol! We wanted to go there to sign up for the card since its so convenient for us to pump petrol there in future.

And it will also give me an excuse to buy stuff from Old Chang Kee which is in the petrol station!

Bought my favourite fried squid. Loved it because it is chewy and crispy.

Also bought a chicken pie from the station which was only selling for $1.

Ate it as we took a leisure stroll back home. The weather was nice and cooling. It was a nice walk as punggol has lots of space and not many cars and people. So the air there is still fresh and unpolluted.

Purposely took this picture of the small plants growing along the road so that in future when it grows, I can compare and see how much Punggol has changed.

As we were walking, I discovered a shortcut path. So we took the path and realised it was very nice.

It led to a playground and I noticed lots of interesting trees.

And I took a picture of the leaves as it was nicely and interestingly coloured with diff shades of green..

Here is the playground that the path led..

Caleb fell asleep during our walk and when we reached home, as usual, he started crying. Oh boy... Forgot to mention that he also cried when we were at the petrol station. I always feel pai seh (embarassed)when he cries because it can be quite loud and irritating not for me as I am used to him now, but for the passer-bys.

When he came home and cried so much, we had to entertain him. So Vicky tried talking and playing with him.I must also add that we placed him sitting on our washing machine...(What adults would do just to amuse a crying baby)..

Spent the evening reading to him as well..He was captivated by the colours.

As soon as he heard me snapping pictures of him, he turned and stared at the camera.
(check out his ever ready thumb on standby mode)

At night while I was having dinner, he also wanted to read more books. So, he sat beside me as Vicky read to him another book which Marianne got for him.

I do wish for him to be expose to more books and have a great collection of books for him to read. So for those who have no idea what to get for me and caleb for whatever occasion, buy books for him, ok? :)
