These few days, Caleb has been holding on to his hair. I know Vicky and CT has been hoping that I would cut Caleb's hair, but I am still resisting cos I like to see him in long hair just for fun! The reason why Caleb holds on to his hair is to find comfort and security. Sometimes when I feed him, he would be holding on to my shirt. I think he needs to grip on something to help him feel comfortable. So he does that when he eats or sleeps. Therefore, when he cant find anything, he just holds his hair.
Another action that makes him secure is sucking. So here is picture where he is busy sucking and holding his hair. The funny thing is that with a pacifier,he still has his thumb standing by.
So that once the pacifier drops from his mouth, he can just stick his thumb right in.
This evening, went my parent's place for dinner. So, I placed Caleb into his car seat for the first time because each time when Caleb is in the car, I worry for his safety because Vicky just carries him. So, I have been wanting to strap him down in a car seat. So, finally, I did that today and initially, he was just looking real lost in the car seat and giving me the blank look...
Then after I drove off for about 10 mins, he started crying...
Sigh. Took him out of the seat and he was alright- fell right asleep. Guess he needs some getting used to.
When I reached my parent's place, I got some stuff from my friends who dropped it at my mum's place for me to collect. I got Mr Brown's training cup and bib from Esther (all the way from USA). And a nice red cap from Marianne. So cute! Here is Caleb in his new cap! Thanks Esther and Marianne!
When wearing the cap, he didnt cry at all. He just gave this really stunned look-maybe wondering what is on his head and what are these people doing to me?
Here is Caleb with his cap in different positions..
Here is Caleb looking intelligent once again- reading the newspaper.
And this is a picture of him sitting on the sofa..which didnt last long cos he would feel uncomfortable and start crying.
Nowadays, he would cry at the slightest thing. Its as if he wants things in a particular way. What he used to like in the past, he may not like it now. So I have to always observe and understand his behaviour all the time to see what he likes now and what he doesnt like. Got to be adaptable. :p

Jed loves to grab his hair too. I have to pry his fingers away from it sometimes! I think it is a security thing like what you said... :)
