Caleb is a very active baby. Looks like he is taking after his cousin, Janine, who coincidentally is also very very active.
Caleb loves to dance. When you sing to him enthusiastically and in a kiddy tone, he would start kicking his legs and bobbing his head. His legs are quite strong. So recently, he has been wanting to 'walk'. He enjoys it very much.
Look at how firm his feet are on the ground.
Today when I came back from work, I noticed something rather amusing. Caleb was lying on the sofa and he was surrounded with books.
That is probably one way to keep him amused and quiet.
One thing I noticed about Caleb today is the rashes he has on his face. So ugly.
I was wondering what could cause it. Well, a couple of reasons I could think of are
1) Could be due to daddy's beard that rubbed against his delicate skin when daddy kissed him so much last night.
2) Could be due to his own saliva since now he drools and sucks his whole fist such that his saliva gets rubbed all over his face when he moves his hands.
Whatever case it is, it doesnt look nice. I hope his skin would be better soon.
In the afternoon while I was trying to put him to sleep, I attempted various methods as usual. Since I have became a parent, I have to think creatively, out-of-the box methods to amuse Caleb, make him fall asleep or make him finish his milk. Its not easy to do that as each time, he may want a different and new method if not he would start crying. So, I have to always think of new ways.
Then while thinking of how to put him to sleep, I suddenly thought of a method which my colleague, Jo did on her son, Jed. She noticed that Jed likes the soft texture of cloth nappies. He'll bring the nappy blanket up and rub his face with it which is rather comforting. So, I tried that with Caleb and here is the result...
His eyes were bigger than ever. And because he had the cloth nappy near his face, he started grabbing it with the palm of his hands and started pulling and lifting it up.
Sigh..so much for trying to put him to sleep.

Haha! So you tried the nappy method. Actually Jed does that too - grabbing the nappy and bringing it up to his face. That's how he feels the soft texture against his face. Then again, he must be sleepy to begin with! Caleb sure has strong legs! I should get Jeddy to exercise soon... he's always lying around. Heh heh...
Try Sudocrem. It's a cream for nappy rash, eczema, any rash actually. My baby has this rash breakout every once in a while. I use Sudocrem till the rash lightens and starts to clear, then use moisturiser so that her skin doesn't get too dry. But babies do get the rash mainly because of dust, saliva, sometimes a viral infection... the rash on my baby's face usually signals a viral infection... unless she's teething... but it's not serious and will usually clear completely by the time the child turns 12 months.
Hi Jo, well, I didnt train Caleb or make him exercise. He naturally just loves to do 'walk' and jump jump.
